NOTE This is a written explanation, in the future this will be shown through a video.

  • Select your base fabric. This example uses a woven (nonflexible) cotton base fabric, but it could handle a semi-flexible (synthetic) fabric.

  • Cut the size of your sample/textiles + a 2cm border on each side.

  • Use Vliesofix and iron it onto each side

  • Download the Illustrator and/or png file.

  • At this moment you can adjust the size and the design of the buttons in the Illustrator file.

  • TIP: changing the design of the button will change the texture (the way it feels), try to experiment with different designs.

  • print out your design and trace it on the back of your chosen fabric

  • Chose the color and thickness of your yarn

  • You can use an embroidery circle to fix your fabric and sew more easily

  • Sew the yarn into the fabric following your design.

  • Sew the conductive yarn over (in a cross) the intersecting yarn from the previous step.

  • Leave a long end of the conductive yarn.

  • Cut out the corners of your fabric and iron the edges of your fabric for a clean finish

  • Cut a stroke of Vliesofix and of conductive fabric (same size)

  • Iron piece of Vliesofix onto your base fabric (make sure that the crocodile clips can be attached to it) and remove the paper.

  • Place the conductive fabric over the glue and place the conductive fabric on top

  • Iron all together.
